NPANJ Reopens for Evaluations in June!
Updated: Jun 4, 2020
We are excited to announce our return to in-office comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations in June! We have worked tirelessly to put plans in place to maximize safety, while bringing you the highest quality comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations. Please note that while some evaluations are appropriate for the below outlined modifications, we are not able to return to all types of evaluations at this time. We are working to get as many clients in as possible, and look forward to working with individuals and families as soon as possible.
If you do have an appointment coming up, below are a few things you can expect:
Prior to the Evaluation:
You will be asked a series of screening questions regarding travel history, health status, contact with individuals who have COVID-19, etc.
Intake interviews will occur via HIPAA-compliant tele-health videoconference the day or two before your appointment. You will be sent a link and directions as to how to log onto the video conference with Dr. Ghilain & Dr. Morgan from the privacy of your own home.
Dr. Ghilain & Dr. Morgan will conduct the intake interview, review what to expect when you arrive to the office for testing during that call, and answer any additional questions that arise.
*Please note: we are waiving cancelation fees within 24 hours given the current pandemic. If you wake up on the day of your evaluation and feel unwell, please do not come to the office. Leave us a message and we will be glad to reschedule at no penalty to you.
When you arrive to the Evaluation:
Only one client is seen per day, thus reducing co-mingling of individuals in the waiting room. Furniture has also been arranged to comply with social distancing expectations.
Temperature checks for all staff, patients, and family members will occur and be documented prior to and at the completion of testing.
Staff will wear masks, gloves, and other personal protective gear while in the office suite.
Gloves, masks and hand sanitizer will be provided to clients and are required while inside the testing suite.
Each individual (client, doctor, etc.) will remain in separate offices connected via HIPAA-secure video platform for the majority of testing, reducing the amount of prolonged face-to-face contact between client and the assessment team members. For a few of the assessments that must be completed face-to-face, numerous safety measures (e.g., gloves, masks, plexiglass shield) are in place.
The waiting room and common areas are rearranged to ensure a minimum of 6' distance between chairs.
Routine sanitizing of common surfaces (doorknobs, handles, testing equipment, etc.) will occur daily with CDC-compliant products.
Clients are asked to bring lunch, snacks, and beverages with them to reduce repeated entry and exit from the office suite.
After the Evaluation:
For clinical cases, feedback sessions are provided via HIPAA-compliant videoconference (similar to the intake interview). Dr. Ghilain and Dr. Morgan will review any questions about the assessment and review pertinent findings.
Reports are electronically sent to clients (password protected and secure) within 2 weeks of the evaluation.
Dr. Ghilain and Dr. Morgan remain available for phone consultation at any time! Feel free to call our office to schedule a phone meeting.
Please note: we are already quickly booking up for June, so if you are considering an evaluation this summer, please reach out to get on the schedule as soon as possible!
Still have questions? Please call our office at 973-267-5646 and we would be glad to discuss our process. If we are unavailable at the time of your call, please leave a voicemail, and we will return your call as soon as possible!
